Puck Performance is the fourth book in the BTU Alumni series, and I am so pleased to share that it will not be the last. Now, let’s get down to the stars of the show, Jase Donnelly and Melody Brightly. Enter stage left, Jase Donnelly, our NHL all-star with a heart of gold. We were introduced to Jase in Power Play when his sister, Jordan, fell for his teammate and neighbor, Jake. Immediately we find out that Jase is a family man who will stop at nothing to protect those he loves most in the world. However, who is there for Jase to help him with his demons lurking in the shadows? Enter stage right, Melody Brightly, our pink-haired Broadway showstopper! You will fall in love with Melody long before she hits center stage, secrets and all. Groomed by her crazy covenesque-like best friends, Ella and Zoey, Melody is the perfect addition to the BTU alumni family. Melody is so relatable with her quick wit, strength, and talent that I believe anyone who reads Puck Performance will see a little bit of themselves within her.

Stacia will stop at nothing to support her family. When circumstances beyond her control threaten the security of her family, Stacia searches for anything to help her family out of the hole. With the encouragement of an incredible and, at times, overbearing best friend, Stacia must accept West's offer.
The constant push and pull between our main characters is beyond addicting, and it immediately sucks you into their world of General Tso's tacos (yum) and Superbad. LK Farlow has ensured that you will be laughing, crying, and falling in love with their story almost as fast as the cars they drive. I devoured this novel, and I can't wait to reread it! LK is such a talented storyteller and writes with so much enthusiasm you can't help but consider these characters your friends! I absolutely loved this book, and I highly recommend Rebel Soul as well as Rebel Heart, which is about Stacia's best-friend, AJ, and her other half, Brock. As standard in all LK's novels, happily-ever-after— guaranteed!
TURTLE by LM Kennedy is an emotional and enthralling story about falling in love with the familiar and challenge the unexpected. The pages in this book are exploding with instant chemistry between our Heroine and Hero. Events in their lives damaged Roman and Alina; however, they dealt with them in very different ways. The light and dark contrast between the two only contributed to making each other better people and allowing them to face the facts of life together.
This story has stayed with me long after I finished the book, and my only complaint is that there weren’t more pages. LM Kennedy did a beautiful job depicting honesty among her characters and true transparency. Whether you have similar experiences to our protagonists or not, I believe anyone reading this book will be able to relate to our main characters in one way or another. I highly recommend reading TURTLE and am so looking forward to following Zeke and Charlie in book two! Some may say it was their destiny, others will say it was fate, but nothing would have happened if Roman and Alina ever stopped fighting for their love.
Mia Rose Jett, a troubled nineteen-year-old who is unapologetically herself. After many run-ins with the law, Mia is sent away to a reformatory school called Dolor located in the UK. Now if you didn't know, Dolor means "a state of sorrow or distress" in other words, pain. So already, one should understand that the journey of our Heroine and Hero will not be rainbows and roses. Due to events that happened when she was a young girl, Mia is unable to feel. The last thing she expected was to meet a young man who felt enough for the both of them.
Oliver Masters, Ollie, sweetheart by day, poet by night, was the last person Mia thought she would meet at Dolor. Ollie is the green-eyed tattooed Angel who was sent to Dolor for events that were beyond his control. Though this novel does come with a warning and you should read at your own risk, it is so worth the emotional journey you are taken on. Though this trope is not explicitly stated, addiction is the underlying factor many of these characters have in common. Addiction of a substance, action, high, and yes, of a person. See how Mia, Ollie, and everyone else at Dolor deals with their repercussions of their actions and the desire to find a sense of belonging within the land of the misfits. I consider this a FIVE STAR read, and I highly recommend it to everyone! I know many people read this book in one sitting, but I was so affected by Mia's story that I had to take a break and really think about what was happening. Nicole's character development is beyond perfect, and so well thought out, you can genuinely see them as real people. Ollie and Mia's love story will steal your heart and hold it captive until Nicole releases the next book in the Stay With Me Series. I cannot wait to do a reread of this book and get lost in the world Ollie dreams about! I hope you love this book as much as I do! "I will follow LK Farlow until the end of time!"
Though the story is about our kick-ass heroine, Natalie, and her hero Alden, Farlow write about Natalie's family in such a way that may have you reflecting on your own. The Reynolds family will make you laugh and possibly cry as you watch their love for each other unfold. The crazy supportive parents, the overprotective police officer brother, Nate, and though not a Reynold but still part of the family, the sassy-mouthed best friend, Jenny!
Just when you are beginning to feel like part of the family LK surprises you with the best friend's brother romance, "Best of Intentions," which is the telling of Nate and Jenny's story! Overall, "Best Laid Plains" is a must read if you love a good cup of hard working man, a generous pour of a strong and intelligent woman, and just a pinch of princesses and rainbows! |
