I created this majestic piece of art during my junior year of college. The assignment was to create a series of three images that showed a progression of size, shape, color, and dimension. The media used to create the original piece of art was acrylic paint, scissors, and glue. This particular composition is the third in this series. To achieve this final result, I began by painting the mountainous background and landing tree in the foreground. The eagle itself is comprised of individually painted and cut pieces of paper. By using various cutting technics, I was able to create a complex design of textures and shapes. Once the eagle was stable enough to move, I then glued it onto the 8"x10" composition.
This beautiful piece of art has been photographed and printed on a glossy front 5"x7" cardstock. Not only can you use this print as decoration for your wall, bookcase, or desk, but you can also send it to a friend as a postcard. On the reverse side of each print is a postcard layout which includes a stamp box and address line. This composition holds a special place in my heart as it was one of the first art projects I took great pride in once completing it. I believe this print can act as a special reminder for anyone that, much like the soaring bald eagle, they have the strength and freedom to achieve anything they set their mind to. This 5"x7" print looks great when in a 5"x7" frame, as pictured, or matted in an 8"x10" frame. *FRAME NOT INCLUDED* Prints will be protected in a cellophane sleeve and shipped in a rigid mailer to ensure that your print is not bent upon arrival.
